Gematria Calculator
Gematria is a system in which the letters of a word or name receive numerical values, and their sum is interpreted as the word's number. The calculator works with three schemes: classical Hebrew (Kabbalistic), Russian by alphabet position, and Latin by the Pythagorean table.

How the calculator works
In classical Hebrew gematria, rooted in the Kabbalistic tradition, the 22 letters of the alphabet receive values from 1 to 400. The first ten are units: aleph = 1, bet = 2, gimel = 3, dalet = 4, he = 5, vav = 6, zayin = 7, chet = 8, tet = 9, yod = 10. The next groups are tens and hundreds: kaf = 20, lamed = 30 … tav = 400. Final letter forms (sofit) — kaf, mem, nun, pe, tsadi — receive the same values as their regular forms. To find the gematria of a word, add the values of all its letters: for example, shalom (שלם): shin = 300, lamed = 30, mem = 40, total 370 → 3+7+0 = 10 → 1+0 = 1. The sum is reduced to a single digit 1–9; master numbers are not preserved in gematria.
Russian gematria is a positional scheme: Russian alphabet letters receive values in order (A = 1, B = 2 … YA = 33, YO = 7). This is one of the common schemes — there is no single canon; on this site it is provided as a reference and is not mixed with Hebrew. The Latin scheme uses the Pythagorean table: A = 1 … I = 9, J = 1 … R = 9, S = 1 … Z = 8 — the same table as on the letter correspondence page. Unlike Hebrew gematria, the Russian and Latin systems are not tied to Kabbalah and serve as reference tools.
Spaces and hyphens are not counted in the calculation: in gematria, only the letters of the word are counted — order and separators have no value. For Hebrew, vowel points (nikkud) are discarded — these are vowel dots, not letters. For example, the word «שָׁלוֹם» (shalom) is calculated by consonants only: shin (300) + lamed (30) + mem (40) = 370 → 3+7+0 = 10 → 1+0 = 1.
