Calculation Methodology
Unified rules for how the site calculates numbers. The methodology is the same for all pages and calculators — changes are recorded here.
General Principle: Digital Reduction
All numbers are obtained by adding digits and letter codes with subsequent reduction: the sum is reduced to a single digit (1–9). Master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are not reduced — in the Pythagorean tradition they hold special significance.
Life Path Number
All digits of the birth date (day, month, year) are added together, then the result is reduced. If the sum equals 11, 22, or 33 — it remains a master number.
Birth Day Number
This is the day of the month, reduced according to the same rules (accounting for master numbers).
15 → 1 + 5 = 6 → число дня рождения 6 29 → 2 + 9 = 11 → мастер-число 11
Name Numbers: Destiny, Soul Urge, Personality
Each letter of the Latin alphabet corresponds to a number according to the chosen system. The destiny (expression) number is the sum of all full name letter codes. The soul urge number is the sum of vowel codes (A, E, I, O, U; Y is counted as a consonant), and the personality number is the sum of consonant codes.
ANNA (пифагорейская система: A=1, N=5) Судьба: 1 + 5 + 5 + 1 = 12 → 3 Душевное стремление (гласные A, A): 1 + 1 = 2 Личность (согласные N, N): 5 + 5 = 10 → 1
Transliteration of Russian Names
For names entered in Cyrillic, passport transliteration is used — the same scheme applied in Russian foreign passports (GOST R 52535.1-2006, Appendix B; corresponding to ICAO Doc 9303 recommendations). "Anna" → ANNA, "Alёna" → ALENA, "Yulia" → IULIIA, "Dmitry" → DMITRII.
The passport scheme differs from the library transliteration GOST 7.79-2000 (System B), which the site uses for URL slugs. For names, the passport scheme is used — it is typically how the name appears in documents.
| Cyrillic | Passport (GOST R 52535.1-2006) | Library (GOST 7.79-2000, for slugs) |
|---|---|---|
| Ё | E | YO |
| Й | I | Y |
| Ъ | IE | — |
| Ю | IU | YU |
| Я | IA | YA |
Алёна: паспортная — ALENA → A+L+E+N+A = 1+3+5+5+1 = 15 → 6 библиотечная — ALEONA → A+L+E+O+N+A = 1+3+5+6+5+1 = 21 → 3 Число судьбы отличается — поэтому схема важна!

Honest note about manual input. If you enter a name in Latin letters manually, the result may differ from the Cyrillic calculation: the passport transliteration is one of several schemes, and documents may have variations (e.g., YULIYA instead of IULIIA). The calculator computes exactly what is entered and shows which transliteration was used.
Master Numbers and Karmic Debts
Master numbers 11, 22, 33 in the Pythagorean school are not reduced. In the Chaldean system they are used less frequently: it operates with numbers 1–8, and 9 is considered sacred. Karmic debts 13, 14, 16, 19 — a popular interpretation: if an intermediate sum during calculation equals one of these numbers, the calculator marks it as a "karmic debt." This is a descriptive tradition, not a prediction.
Limitations
Calculations follow the methodology of the specific school and represent tradition, not scientific fact. Number values are descriptions accepted in numerology; the site does not provide medical, psychological, or financial recommendations.
For names, the full name is used (first and last name, if entered). The result depends on the chosen system and the spelling of the name — different schools and different transliterations yield different numbers, and that is normal.
