Chaldean Numerology

Definition: a popular system attributed to the ancient Chaldeans (Babylon); it differs from the Pythagorean system in its correspondence table: letters are assigned values from 1 to 8, and 9 is considered a "sacred" number. The system is described in detail by Cheiro, who himself acknowledges that its origin "is lost in antiquity." The historical attribution to the Chaldeans is not confirmed by available sources.
